Head Teacher’s Welcome

Welcome from the Headteacher

A very warm welcome to Hungerford

We are very proud of our school/centre with its unique special qualities. Our campus atmosphere encourages a secure environment where learning is valued and respected. Our school Motto:

“The child is the centre of our community where each is unique; all are welcome; everyone can grow.”

It provides the keystone for challenge and ensuring that every child has every opportunity to reach their potential. Inclusion is at the forefront of our ethos alongside striving for the highest academic achievement.

We have a very happy school/centre community with excellent relationships between adults and children based on mutual respect and understanding.
Our wonderful ‘listed’ campus provides a sense of permanence and stability and the recent co-location with The Bridge School has enabled us to have an outside provision which is undoubtedly the envy of Islington.

This, together with ever improving facilities and a dedicated, enthusiastic and established staff team, come together to make it a positive and happy place to learn.
We are constantly striving to provide our children with the best possible education and opportunities in every way; sending them on to secondary school with strong skills, confidence, and a love of learning. Our success in doing so is reflected in our 2009 Ofsted Report.

“Pupils achieve well because they are well taught…there is a genuine desire to give every pupil the opportunity to do the best that they can in life”

“The school has created an outstanding partnership with parents and the local community, making excellent use of its facilities and of outside services for the benefit of pupils and their families”

“Parents are rightfully appreciative of what the school has to offer.”

Yours sincerely
